Join the Department of World Languages and Cultures for an engaging evening celebrating Franco-American literary heritage at “Across the Years: Three Franco Poets from Lowell.”
Date: Monday, June 22, 2026
Time: 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Location: Coburn Hall 255, 850 Broadway St., Lowell
This special event explores the lives and works of three influential poets connected to Lowell:
- Dr. Joseph H. Roy – A Québecois Lowell physician and Symbolist-influenced poet
- Suzanne Beebe – A Lowell-born writer exploring Franco identity and spirituality
- Paul Marion – A Greater Lowell poet, essayist, and champion of Kerouac
Through discussion and reflection, we’ll examine what connects these voices and how language, culture, and personal history have shaped their poetry.
Hosted and moderated by Mercédès Baillargeon from the Department of World Languages and Cultures. Co-sponsored by the Greater Lowell Franco-American Digital Archives and the Lowell Franco-American Day Committee.
Refreshments will be served
