Marty Walsh, executive director of the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) and former U.S. Secretary of Labor, will speak as part of the Moses Greeley Parker Lecture Series.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 30 at 5:30 p.m. at Middlesex Community College's Donahue Family Academic Arts Center, 240 Central St. in downtown Lowell.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Walsh previously served as the 53rd mayor of Boston. His public service includes representing the 13th Suffolk District in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and leading the Boston Building Trades Council. A dedicated advocate for working people, he also speaks about his personal journey in recovery and has been sober for 31 years.
