UMass Lowell researchers are conducting research to build and test a radar system that can accurately measure heart rate and breathing. The visit is about an hour. You will sit at rest for 2 minutes, ride a recumbent cross trainer for 10 minutes, sit and recover for 5 minutes and then stand for 2 minutes. At any time during the testing, you may request a break.

You can take part in this study if you don’t have:

  • History of neurological or cardiopulmonary problems, major neck, arm, leg or spine injuries that limit riding a stationary bike or a recumbent cross trainer.
  • Illness or any medical condition (such as having hypertension, diabetes, obesity, malignant tumors, or any current diagnosed neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary conditions that may affect the safety and capability of performing moderate-intensity exercises).
  • A potential pregnancy.

Monetary compensation ($20 Amazon gift card) will be provided.
