I am pleased to share that the university has identified three outstanding finalists for the position of Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. These candidates will visit campus over the next two weeks as part of the final phase of this important search. I want to thank the members of the search committee for their thoughtful and dedicated work in helping us reach this stage.

This is a critical moment for the university. Our next provost will have a major impact on the future of academic and student affairs at UML, and your participation in this process matters.

Each finalist will take part in an open forum for faculty, staff, students and other members of the UML community. These sessions will be an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates and, just as importantly, to provide feedback that will help inform this decision.

Please save the following dates:

Candidate #1 | Wednesday, April 22
Open Forum: 1:15-2:15 p.m., ETIC Atrium

Candidate #2 | Tuesday, April 28
Open Forum: 1:15-2:15 p.m., O’Leary Library, Room 222

Candidate #3 | Wednesday, April 29
Open Forum: 1:15-2:15 p.m., Alumni Hall

Candidate materials and a feedback link will be shared approximately 24 hours before each visit. We strongly encourage in-person attendance at the forums to support the most engaged and interactive exchange possible. For those unable to attend in person, a Zoom option will be available for listen-only access; questions will be reserved for in-person attendees.

I know this is an especially busy time of year, and I recognize that we are asking a great deal of many across the university. We would not do so if this were not so important. I hope you will make every effort to participate, attend the open forums and share your feedback.

Thank you for your engagement in this important process.
