Title: Capacity Building for Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Graduate Classwork in Education Research
Presenters: Negin Yazdani Motlagh, Youlim Lee and James Fragnoli

Findings from a study suggest bimodal usage of generative artificial intelligence (AI) by graduate students. This workshop aims to support responsible use of AI in classes for high-frequency users of AI and to build capacity for responsible use of AI in classes for low-frequency users of AI. An overview of university policy on AI will support conversations on ethical and appropriate use. If time permits, breakout sessions will engage participants in exploring AI use for common classwork activities. This workshop is designed to support graduate students engaged in coursework.

The mission of the Center for Program Evaluation (CPE) is to conduct research on program evaluation methods as well as to offer evaluation planning, consulting, training and services for the university, regional and global community. CPE offers program evaluation services that support the university’s missions of research, teaching, and service to the community and industry for both faculty and students.
