Seven Six Records, UMass Lowell’s student-run music industry club, is excited to host a Masterclass event featuring BLKBOK, a skilled pianist and composer, known for his fusion of classical piano and hip-hop; delivering a culturally reflective performance. Post-performance, we will host our BOK Party meet-and-greet with BLKBOK and his marketing team.

Born and raised in Detroit, BLKBOK (Charles Wilson III) is a piano prodigy and critically acclaimed musician whose work spans neo-classical, pop, and hip-hop influences. His live, high-energy performances combine technical mastery with cultural storytelling, earning praise from The New York Times, Forbes, and National Public Radio (NPR). BLKBOK’s debut album Black Book, mixtapes and groundbreaking performances, including the first-ever piano duet with an astronaut in space, highlight his innovative approach to music and his mission to inspire and connect audiences worldwide.
This 50-minute Masterclass is designed to help musicians commit to their craft, explore their authentic musical identity, and connect meaningfully with their audience. Participants will learn practical strategies for overcoming creative challenges and building engagement, with interactive discussion and Q&A session, along with a meet-and-greet opportunity following the performance.
