The UMass President’s Office will host the eighth Know Your Rights webinar, featuring Susan Church, J.D., chief operating officer for the Office for Refugees and Immigrants for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
This presentation will build on prior webinars by providing updated information on federal immigration enforcement activity in Massachusetts and related legal and practical considerations beyond basic warrant requirements. Topics will include identification and documentation requirements during enforcement encounters, legal standards related to vehicle stops, bystander considerations, and ways community organizations and non-lawyers can support individuals and families preparing for possible enforcement interactions or detainment.
All interested UMass Lowell students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend:
