February is an exciting time as the Fulbright Scholar Program competition for the 2027-2028 academic year is now open.
The deadline to apply to U.S. Scholar awards is Sept. 15, 2026 (5 pm Eastern (UTC -5:00)). The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is offering more than 380 awards in more than 120 countries this year. We encourage our faculty, staff and administrators who would make great Fulbrighters to refer them using the Fulbright referral form or encourage them to join one of our webinars and interactive office hours. Recorded Webinar: 2027-28 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program Competition "Sneak Peek"
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program for 2027-2028 has officially launched, with the Fulbright Program staff providing an overview of the program's requirements, eligibility, and regional highlights. Fulbright staff discussed important dates, including the application deadline of Sept. 15, 2026, and highlighted new awards and opportunities in various countries. They emphasized the program's support for applicants through office hours, webinars, and in-country assistance.
They also introduced the International Education Administrator Awards(This two-week funded seminar is for staff!) and provided tips for a strong application. The presentation concluded with a walkthrough of the updated Fulbright website, showcasing its features and resources for applicants.
