Get ready for the second annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition at UMass Lowell, organized by the School of Graduate Studies, in collaboration with the Graduate Student Association and the Office of Research Development. This is a program designed to help graduate students explain their research in a succinct and compelling way to general, non-specialist audiences.

Participating in the 3MT program at UMass Lowell provides graduate students with training and an opportunity to share their research, practice their public speaking skills, and win prizes.

3MT winners may receive additional opportunities for professional development and networking, including the chance to represent UMass Lowell at regional and national 3MT competitions. The inaugural 3MT competition in 2025 was a resounding success.
