The Department of World Languages and Cultures is excited to share the latest publication from our faculty, Max Ubelaker Andrade.

The journal Amerika's January 2026 issue includes a special feature on the Argentinian Netflix show "El eternauta," featuring an essay by Associate Teaching Professor Max Ubelaker Andrade.

Ubelaker Andrade's essay considers the relationship between the 2025 series and the 1957-59 comic of the same name, and features algorithmic anxieties of influence, AI, alien invasions and doubled digital monsters.
