Lowell Kids Week is a partnership between several organizations in Lowell, Massachusetts, providing free, unique activities for kids and families during February school vacation week.
The full schedule has just been released. All activities are free but some require advance registration.
We wanted to note the Feb. 20 event, "Hands-On STEM and History" happening at the Tsongas Industrial History Center from 1 - 4 p.m.
Lots of different UMass Lowell departments will be joining us for a fun afternoon. All ages are welcome!
Hosted by the Tsongas Industrial History Center, Lowell National Historical Park, Salem Maritime National Historic Site, Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic, UMass Lowell Climate Cool Schools Program, Center for Community Research & Engagement, Kid's Club with UMass Lowell Athletics, Center for Lowell History, UMass Lowell Rist DifferenceMaker Institute, UMass Lowell Chemical Engineering Department, UMass Lowell Spanish Program, Pollard Memorial Library, and Asian American Center for Excellence and Engagement.
Join us all for an afternoon of fun and exploration.
Work on experiments with chemical engineers and innovate with tinker toys and Legos. Learn about digital literacy, work on a recyclable art project, or explore the role of the Colombian community in Lowell.
Check out the Tsongas Industrial History Center classroom spaces, and try your hand at weaving, engineering a vehicle, make rope, or explore the suitcases of historic artifacts.
No reservations required. Drop by anytime between 1 - 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20.
