The UMass President’s Office is hosting an upcoming Know Your Rights webinar with Susan Church, J.D., chief operating officer for the Office for Refugees and Immigrants for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. All interested UMass Lowell students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.

Know Your Rights will expand on Church’s prior presentations to offer current examples on how immigration enforcement activities may unfold in practice. The webinar will provide a clear overview of the laws and procedures that govern enforcement actions, including when officials must present a warrant or identification, the circumstances under which a vehicle may be stopped, and ways community members can support immigrants and families during potential encounters with authorities.
