Happy 2026, everyone! It’s a new year and Intersession at UMass Lowell is under way. Whether you’re a student or a faculty member, the UML Library staff is ready to help answer questions and connect you to the information you need during Intersession.

From Jan. 5 through Jan. 19, excluding holidays and university closures, we’ll be offering the following remote library reference services:

Live Chat reference will be available in real time, Monday - Wednesday from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 1 - 3 p.m. To start chatting, visit uml.libanswers.com.

Can’t make it to Live Chat hours during Intersession? No problem! You can reach out to the reference librarians with questions by sending an email to ask@uml.libanswers.com or schedule a Zoom Virtual Consult at uml.libcal.com/appointments. Virtual Consult appointments are generally available Monday-Friday, but times will vary. Please note that Virtual Consults must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

On Monday, Jan. 19, reference services will be closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Regular reference services, including in-person walk-up research help, will resume when the spring semester begins on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
