By Julie Nash,
The Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) is pleased to invite 30 UMass Lowell faculty members to enroll at no cost in Auburn University’s highly acclaimed online course, Teaching with AI.
This self-paced, fully online course—developed by Auburn’s Biggio Center—provides a practical introduction to AI and its implications for higher education. Faculty will explore core AI concepts, academic integrity considerations, assignment and course redesign, ethical issues, and AI tools that can enhance student engagement and learning. The course also includes opportunities to practice using AI, redesign assignments. Participants also earn digital micro-badges for each module completed, culminating in a course badge demonstrating their competency with AI-enhanced teaching practices.
With 12 months of access, this is an ideal opportunity for faculty to explore the content over winter break and begin applying new strategies in your Spring and Fall 2026 courses.
Faculty who complete the course will be invited to share their learning with colleagues by offering either a CELT workshop, or a Lightning Talk at the Faculty Symposium, to help spread effective practices throughout our community. We’ll also connect you as a cohort so you have a built-in community for troubleshooting, swapping ideas, and keeping the work moving after the course ends.
Fill out this form to apply. Don’t wait as spaces are limited, and the 30 available seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
