What happens when a scientist and an artist team up to explain how we experience the world? A one-of-a-kind children’s book series is born.
Join us for “When Art and Science Meet: The Making of a Children's Book,” a special alumni event highlighting the collaboration between Kennedy College of Sciences Dean Noureddine Melikechi and illustrator, Art & Design Associate Professor Ingrid Hess, co-creators of the engaging five-book children’s series “Our Five Senses.”
Released last year, the series delights and educates children ages 3 to 8, combining playful storytelling with accessible science to explore sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. Hear from Dean Melikechi and Professor Hess as they share the creative process behind the books and discuss how this unique blend of art and science supports early childhood learning. A perfect gift, the series helps young minds grow through fun, curiosity and discovery.
