Join the Saab Center for Portuguese Studies and the Departments of World Languages and Cultures and History for a special lecture: “Amílcar Cabral and the Independence of Lusophone Africa”

Speaker: António Tomás, University of California-Irvine

In commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of Angola, Cape Verde, Guiné-Bissau, Moçambique, and São Tomé e Príncipe, Professor Tomás will explore Amílcar Cabral’s pivotal role in the decolonization of Lusophone Africa and the broader context of Portuguese colonialism.

Free and open to the public.
