UMass Lowell (UML) Library is excited to highlight recent collection acquisitions.
JSTOR Ebooks
Expanded access to JSTOR ebooks! UML Library recently joined the JSTOR Path to Open program, providing access to approximately 700 books recently published by major university presses, with another 300 titles planned for publication in 2026.
UML patrons can access all these books now, and with support from UML and other institutions, these books will become open to everyone in the world three years after publication! As these ebooks have unlimited simultaneous users and will all eventually be open access, they are well suited for zero-cost course assigned texts.
Title lists are available on the JSTOR website, and the books can be discovered alongside thousands of others on the JSTOR platform. As these ebooks allow for unlimited users and are free from digital rights management restrictions, they are well suited for zero-cost course assigned texts. UML’s participation in JSTOR Path to Open is made possible in part by the Boston Library Consortium’s price negotiations for consortia members.
Our recent acquisitions were purchased as a direct result of feedback from you in our Spring 2024 Library Collections Survey and with auxiliary funding from Provost Hartman. Please keep in contact with us and tell us what might be useful to you!
