On Wednesday, Oct' 8, at 5:30 p.m. in 222 O'Leary, there will be a screening of "One Fast Move or I’m Gone: Kerouac’s 'Big Sur'" (90 min).

The filmmakers will be on hand for a question and answer session.

The documentary features an amazing array of artists, writers and musicians across generations—Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Sam Shepard, S. E. Hinton, and more—reflecting on the struggles and successes of the post–On the Road Jack Kerouac, native of Lowell and a transformative novelist of 20th-century American culture. The screening celebrates a new archive gifted to the university that includes never-before-seen video interviews conducted for the film.

Free and open to the public. Free parking in the Wilder Street Staff/Faculty lot.
