Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. for a powerful and engaging conversation with nationally recognized first-gen scholar and advocate La'Tonya Rease Miles followed by a book-signing.
Her memoir, "Smart Girl," blends humor, heart and cultural touchstones - from '90s hip-hop to family and pop culture - into a compelling story of navigating higher education as a Black, working-class, first-gen student. This public reading and Q&A will explore themes of access, equity and identity with warmth and realness.
