Attention Students, Faculty and Staff:

Fire doors are a critical part of our campus safety system. They’re designed to slow the spread of fire and smoke, giving everyone more time to evacuate safely and protecting property.

Why Keeping Fire Doors Closed Matters:

Containment: Fire doors help contain fire to one area, preventing it from spreading.
Safe Evacuation: They protect escape routes, allowing safe passage during emergencies.
Legal Requirement: Fire doors must remain closed or self-close to comply with fire safety regulations.

What You Can Do:
Never prop open fire doors — even for a few minutes.
Report damaged or malfunctioning fire door to Facilities.
Educate others — remind your peers why these doors must stay closed.

Look for signs: Fire doors are usually labeled and often found in hallways, stairwells, and between building sections.

Let’s work together to keep our campus safe. Close the door — it could save a life.
