The wild, zany, engineering and art event of the year is back! On Sept. 20, the streets of Lowell will once again be filled with human-powered all-terrain sculptures.
These fantastic machines will ride over the cobblestone streets of downtown, battle through a 75-foot-long mudpit (near the Tsongas Arena), and navigate the Merrimack River (at the Heritage State Park, just west of North Campus), while spreading joy to everyone. Our very own Provost, Joe Hartman, will be one of this year's judges.
This all free event is a wonderful opportunity to ride your bike along with the sculptures throughout the city but there will also be shuttle services to bring you to the prime spots. Opening ceremonies start at 10:30 a.m. on Market Street.
Go to lowellkinetic.com, or our Facebook and Instagram pages for more information.
Need to bike to ride to follow the race? Go to the Free Wheelers Bike Share on campus to learn how to get a free bike for the day.
