As of Aug. 1, the UMass Lowell Innovation Hub (iHub) was restructured to align more closely with the university’s strategic plan.

Member companies focused on climate and sustainability have relocated to 201 Cabot St., where they now share space with the Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy in the heart of the Lowell Innovation Network Corridor (LINC). This move provides member companies with access to existing industry partners and opportunities to increase engagement with faculty researchers and students.

Companies with a medical device focus are staying at 110 Canal St. but are now operating under the Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center (M2D2). This transition supports the strategic growth of M2D2, along with life sciences workforce development initiatives based within LINC, including Bioversity and VetsRISE.

The remaining companies are relocating to Wannalancit, putting them alongside existing LINC partners, such as Draper and SAIC. This relocation further strengthens the innovation and economic development efforts at the center of LINC.

All programming, services and support for iHub member companies will continue across these locations.

The iHub restructuring will foster stronger collaboration between academia and industry by placing member companies in closer proximity to UMass Lowell researchers, students and mission-aligned partners.
