Did you know that the ADVANCE Office for Faculty Equity and Resilience (OFER):

  • Is a dynamic office entirely devoted to promoting faculty equity?
  • Has adopted the motto “By Faculty For Faculty” because it is led by faculty who address issues identified by faculty?
  • Is driven by a mission to ensure that all faculty of all backgrounds feel valued and able to thrive at UML?
  • Promotes creative approaches to mentoring, unbiased hiring and promotion practices, equitable workloads, validating work climates, and policies that integrate the value for equity?

Want to Get Involved? Be an Equity Leader!
Equity Leaders are a diverse group of highly respected faculty members tasked with supporting OFER initiatives. They guide initiatives that promote equitable access to mentoring, foster a sense of community responsibility for addressing daily biases, and promote inclusive institutional norms to counter marginalizing dynamics.

Nominate yourself or another faculty member by July 31, 2025 to join the ADVANCE Office for Faculty Equity as an Equity Leader. Self-nominations are not only welcome, they are encouraged.
