We’re excited to begin planning our Lead a Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) Summer 2025 Workshop Series, taking place in early to mid-August, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

If you have a topic you’re passionate about or an innovative approach you’d like to share, consider leading a summer workshop with CELT. Each faculty member who leads a workshop will receive a $300 stipend in appreciation of their time and expertise. All workshops will be held via Zoom, making it easy for both facilitators and attendees to participate from anywhere.

Not sure what to present? Here are some suggested topics to spark ideas:

  • Using AI effectively and ethically in the classroom
  • Navigating difficult conversations in today’s political climate
  • Designing inclusive and equitable syllabi
  • Encouraging meaningful student engagement in online or hybrid formats
  • Strategies for teaching multilingual and international students
  • Creative assessments beyond papers and exams
  • Supporting first-gen and underrepresented students in your discipline
  • Getting started with ungrading or contract grading
  • Of course, if you have a topic outside this list, we welcome your ideas!

The CELT team will collaborate with you every step of the way—from selecting the date and time, to shaping your workshop title, description, and learning outcomes.

If you're interested, send an email to CELT@uml.eduby June 13, and we’ll follow up to get the ball rolling. We look forward to learning from you and sharing your insights with our community this summer!
