The Zuckerberg College of Health Sciences is excited to announce the launch of an innovative partnership with the Lowell Public Schools and the Lowell Community Health Center to provide school-based health services at Lowell Community Schools.

The College’s Mobile Health Unit will travel to various schools to enable services such as checkups, sick visits, vaccinations and educational workshops, thereby making these services more accessible, convenient, and affordable. Staff from the Lowell Community Health Center will provide care to K–12 students and supervise UML students in training. With the support of faculty, our Solomont School of Nursing students will assist in providing care while earning clinical hours. Students from various Zuckerberg College majors will provide educational workshops in areas such as nutrition, stress management and physical activity.

We are thrilled to collaborate in this way to improve access to health care for our community.

We will celebrate the roll out the Mobile Health Unit with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, May 5, 10 a.m. at the Greenhalge Elementary School in Lowell. Join us to meet our community partners, tour the Mobile Health Unit and see demonstrations of services available.
