The latest report by the Toxics Use Reduction Institute (TURI) examines safer options to fluorinated gases (F-gases) for refrigeration. Although, reducing the use of hydrofluorocarbons is necessary, popular replacements risk exacerbating PFAS pollution and may not mitigate climate change nearly as much as expected. Other, safer alternatives exist.
