We invite you to apply to serve as a mentor for a first-generation UMass Lowell student in the River Hawk Scholars Academy (RHSA). Your guidance and support can make a meaningful impact in a student’s academic journey, personal growth, and career development.
About the Program: The Elevate Mentoring Program pairs RHSA upper-class students (Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) with a faculty or staff member at UMass Lowell. This program gives students the opportunity to work with a professional mentor who will provide them with guidance throughout the academic year. You will have the opportunity to help make a difference in the life of a first-generation college student. Additional details of the program are mentioned in the application.
As a mentor, you will be able to:
- Provide 1-on-1 support to a first-gen student
- Share your knowledge and experiences to guide them through academic and professional challenges
- Foster a sense of belonging and confidence in their UMass Lowell experience
- Help them build skills, networks, and a vision for their future
If you’re interested or know someone who might be — in supporting a first-gen student, please use the link below to apply. The application deadline is May 23.
