For the last 12 years, students in the UML Immersive Scholars program have benefited from the work and mentoring they have received in many departments across campus. We are seeking research and scholarship opportunities NOW for summer 2025 and academic year 2025-2026.

Will you hire an Immersive Scholars student to work with you?   Hiring an Immersive Scholar student is no cost to your department.

Program overview:
• These pre-selected, high potential sophomore students were offered a $4,000 merit award to work on research and creative projects with UML faculty & staff.   
• Hiring a student is no cost to your department, as the students are paid directly through their Immersive Scholars merit award from UMass Lowell.  
• Not only do the students gain skills and knowledge through their work with you, but they also build the relationships that help them persist to graduation. 
  • Emphasis should be on meaningful research or creative work that will give the students an educational experience. 

There are two work cycles for the program:  

Summer 2025: Students are eligible to work up to 235 hours between May 10, 2025, and August 29, 2025.   
Academic Year 2025-2026: Students are eligible to work up to 235 hours between September 3, 2025 and May 90, 2026.   

To get started, simply post your position to JobHawk:   
  
1. Select one of the Immersive Scholars options as the Job Type.  
2. “Immersive Scholar Award (Summer)” for summer 2025 opportunities  
3. “Immersive Scholar Award” for 2025-2026 academic year opportunities 

Immersive Scholars students will begin applying to jobs on March 1, 2025. While there is no deadline to post, we ask that most jobs are posted by February 21, 2025.
