In the session, participants will learn how federal money flows, how federal agencies set priorities, and how you can respond to them in your proposals. You’ll come away from this session with useful links and insights that will help you remain aware of funding patterns from the federal government.
We will focus primarily on congressional appropriations but will discuss other tactics like community projects and specific congressional bills like the CHIPS and Science Act. We will also share how federal and agency priorities are set in mission agencies (NASA, DOD, USDA, DOE) as well as research-driven (NSF, NIH, NEH) agencies. This session is relevant for anyone who wants to learn more about how federal funding works and how priorities are set.
