The University of Massachusetts Lowell Office of Life Safety & Emergency Management, in collaboration with FEMA, UMass Lowell EMS, UMass Lowell Police, and Lowell Fire Department & Emergency Management, is excited to announce that FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is now available for UMass Lowell students, faculty, and staff this fall!

CERT training provides participants with essential skills in disaster preparedness and emergency response. This dynamic program combines classroom learning with hands-on activities to prepare you for real-world emergencies. Whether you want to better prepare yourself, help others, or make your community safer, this training is for you!

Schedule: Classes will take place on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9 PM, right on campus.

Oct. 1: Disaster Preparedness
Oct. 3: CERT Organization & Terrorism
Oct. 8: Medical Operations 1
Oct. 10: Medical Operations 2
Oct. 17: Fire Safety & Utility Control
Oct. 22: Light Search & Rescue
Oct. 24: Final Exercise & Graduation

This is an excellent opportunity to gain critical skills, build community connections, and be ready for emergencies. Plus, all graduates will receive FEMA certification!
