You’ve been asking us to subscribe for years!

The University Library is thrilled to be able to provide direct access to the New York Times Digital Edition, available at nytimes.com. Now you can use your UML email address to create a free account.

We have a guide to help you get started which includes a link to set up your account and tips on how to switch your personal account to a campus account for free access.

The NYT's Digital Edition Group Pass subscription has some exciting features for campus access. You get access to 170+ years of original reporting, investigation, and analysis, including interactive graphics, visual investigations, Op-Docs, Live coverage, and more, directly from NYTimes.com and the NYT News App. The NYT App is available for all of your iOS and Android devices. You can share 10 articles per month to give to an unlimited number of people, including non-subscribers. The NYT LibGuide provides instructions on how to do this. When you find a great article for your students to read, now you can trust that they’ll have access through UMass Lowell University Library.

For historical research, you can use TimesMachine - a browser-based digital replica of all issues from 1851 to 2002. Plus, you’ll have access to some NYT games like Wordle and Sudokuthrough NYT Games.. NYT Audio App allows you to discover award-winning podcasts, "Reporter Reads" of articles, Critic Picks across movies, music, and food, and additional audio versions of journalism from other favorite magazines like Rolling Stone, Outside, and New York Magazine.

An additional feature not available with personal accounts is access to inEducation, the Times's higher education curricular tool, which highlights news stories across a range of disciplines and provides frameworks for incorporating into your courses.

You can still access New York Times, Historical from ProQuest from our database list. Start at our NYT LibGuide to learn more or find the link on our database page.
