As one of the most influential bands of all time, The Beatles achieved legendary status after their breakup in the 1970s. Crucially, the band had to cease to exist for their music and their story to become “history.” As such, a wealth of material emerged that allowed their work to be heard as a whole, as a complete narrative arc. As a result, their impact was different than for those who experienced the story in real time. Professor Alan Williams will explore those differences from the point of view of an academic, a musician and a fan during this virtual discussion.
