Join the Rist Institute for Sustainability & Energy for guided walking tours of the Sustainability Trails on North, East, and South Campus, to see why UMass Lowell has been rated the No. 1 university in Massachusetts for sustainability.

Have you wanted to learn more about the sustainability efforts being taken by students, faculty, staff, and local community members? These tours aim to inform university and local community members about the changes to the natural and built environments that are part of the University’s ambitious goals to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. You will have the chance to explore natural spaces, such as the UML Arboretum, pollinator gardens, and rooftop gardens throughout campus. Likewise, you will be able to learn more about state-of-the-art renewable energy labs, how the University has transformed historic buildings, and what plans the University has in store for the future.
