Title: Beyond Statistics: Navigating Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract: Statistics has been among the popular majors in the recent decade. More statistics courses have been offered at many schools. However, in addition to the technical knowledge from the traditional statistics curriculum, many important skills can be learned from statistical practices. In this talk, I would like to share some experiences and observations from my statistical practices. Especially, the rapid evolution of technology, including the recent generative AI tools, presents challenges to statisticians. Compared to twenty years ago, the statistical analysis process has changed. It can be more composite, inclusive, in-depth, and full of creativity. This could open more opportunities for both statistical analysis providers and consumers in the emerging AI era.
