Our Graphic Design majors have spent a year working on their capstone projects that include augmented reality (AR), social media, a book series, brand design, marketing design, website design, packaging and label design, and mixed media. Their topics include a Lowell dog park, clothing brands that advocate for mental health, prescription prices related to lung disease, the promotion of mental and physical health by encouraging people to spend more time outdoors, clothing advocacy with resources for size inclusivity, and a museum celebrating hair and the culture behind it.
The Art and Design Capstone is a year-long process in which students are encouraged to research, explore new materials, investigate diverse concepts, and cultivate new ideas. Through exploration, experimentation, collaboration, and critique, concepts become reality in the form of definitive bodies of work. The Art and Design faculty help cultivate a personal growth mentality for the designer that fosters the conceptual development of projects, empowering students to create a personal vision and bring it into their post college practice.
