The Schueller Observatory will be hosting their next public observing night on Wednesday, May 11 beginning with talks at 7 p.m. in Dugan 101 followed by viewing through the telescopes in South Campus Field. 

“How to Photograph the May 15th Total Eclipse of the Moon” will be presented by guest speakers Imelda Joson and Edwin Aguirre. 

Veteran astrophotographers Imelda Joson and Edwin Aguirre will share tips and techniques on how to capture souvenir photos of the total lunar eclipse with your cellphones and digital cameras.

Imelda Joson and Edwin Aguirre are former editors of Sky & Telescope magazine. They are also contributors to Astronomy magazine and Space.com. Imelda and Edwin are both avid eclipse watchers, having observed dozens of lunar eclipses since the 1980s. 

Following the guest speakers, Physics graduate student Sayantan Bhattacharya will present “Lunar Eclipses: Facts and Myths" and “What’s up in the sky tonight.”
