Even as COVID-19 cases decline in Lowell and the commonwealth, we all need to do our part to protect the health of our community. Conducting the Daily Symptom Checker every day before coming to campus, staying home if sick, wearing a face covering when in campus buildings, and getting tested if you’re concerned about an off-campus exposure, are all important measures toward that goal.
If you are a Lowell resident, please be advised that the city of Lowell will be distributing free, at-home COVID-19 testing kits (limit of two per person) Saturday, Feb. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the following locations:
- Robinson Middle School, 110 June St.
- Lowell Senior Center, 276 Broadway St.
- Daley Middle School, 150 Fleming St.
- Pyne Arts School, 145 Boylston St.
- Pawtucketville Memorial Elementary School, 425 W. Meadow Road
You must show proof of Lowell residency – a government-issued ID or a current utility bill with your name and a Lowell address - to receive your test kits.
Any resident of Massachusetts may schedule a PCR test at the Cawley Stadium “Stop the Spread” testing site, at 424 Douglas Road. The hours at the site are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Go to lowellma.gov/covidtesting for more information.
Many other communities are distributing tests. If you don’t live in Lowell, you should check with your Town Hall or City Hall to see what resources are available.
In addition, faculty, staff or commuter students unable to find COVID-19 tests on their own may request an antigen test from the university.
Thank you again for all you do to keep our campus safe and healthy during the pandemic.
