Please join us Wednesday, March 31 at 3 p.m. for our latest 50/50 Lecture. Our invited speaker is Ting Wu, Professor of Genetics at Harvard Medical School. Her presentation is titled “Visualizing the genome at super-resolution and what it has taken to get here.” Wu’s lecture is hosted by UML Assistant Professor Teresa Lee from the Kennedy College of Sciences. The lecture will be followed by a Q & A session.

This 50/50 lecture will be held virtually using Zoom. The link is available on the Making WAVES website.

The 50/50 Lecture Series is a unique format geared at both promoting a notable scientist’s work and highlighting the varied paths that lead to successful STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) careers. Half of the speaker’s time will be allotted to her technical, educational, and research interests, and the other half will be devoted to her career path, detailing, for example, challenges overcome or the influence of mentors. The 50/50 lectures are designed to inspire established and emerging STEM professionals to persevere not only by considering the example set by leaders in STEM but by looking at their own career holistically. Graduate students are welcome!
