Join us for an exciting conversation with Steve Arounsack as he shares his insights into Southeast Asian cultures and how he helped create authentic representation on the big screen.

Arounsack is an award-winning professor and filmmaker with almost 30 years of ethnographic field experience! He's a Hollywood expert in visual anthropology who's worked on the Oscar-nominated film "Raya and the Last Dragon." His documentaries have been nationally broadcasted on PBS and screened at major Asian American film festivals.

But that's not all - Arounsack is also a distinguished scholar who's earned prestigious awards like the Wang Family Excellence Award and the Sony Electronics Award for innovative teaching. He's currently a professor at California State University, Stanislaus where he directs the Keck Visual Anthropology Lab.

And get this - in 2022, Arounsack spearheaded the U.S. Embassy’s largest public policy program in Laos in 50 years, partnering with Disney Global Public Policy and the American Film Showcase. You won't want to miss out on hearing from this incredible speaker!
