Are you interested in participating in exoskeleton research? The UMass Lowell NERVE Center is looking for volunteers to participate in a study that involves performing tasks will wearing an exoskeleton.

This study will involve four testing sessions on different days, each of which may take approximately 4 hours. During the testing, you will wear a series of biometric sensors and be tasked with walking (on a treadmill and on different terrains like sand and gravel), lifting and carrying objects (up to 60 lbs in weight), as well as up and down stairs and ramps while wearing an exoskeleton. About half of this testing will be conducted while you wear military protective armor and a rucksack, which altogether weighs about 80 lbs.

You will receive $20/hr in Amazon gift cards to compensate you for your time. Details will be provided during study training.

To learn more about participating in this study, please email researchers at the UMass Lowell NERVE Center at uml.nerve.center@gmail.com and with the subject “Lower Body Exo Study.”

This project 19-023-YAN-XPD was approved by the University of Massachusetts Lowell IRB on May 28, 2019.
