SCORE (the Sports Collaborative for Open Research and Education) is proud to announce Ball, Bat and Stick Week, a celebration of spring sports during the week of April 25. The week will feature games paired with promotions designed to mark the collaborative nature of athletics, academics and student activities on every campus—North, South and East.

The week will kick off on Tuesday, April 26, when SCORE will appear at the Student Research Symposium at University Crossing. Come chat with SCORE faculty, staff and students and answer trivia questions! We then move to women’s lacrosse versus Brown at 7 p.m. at Cushing Field on North Campus, featuring a celebratory tailgate and an attendance battle between colleges. Have an organization interested in participating? Contact us below.

The next day, Wednesday, April 27, will feature an Exercise Science Lab open house at 2 p.m. in the Riverview Suites (Room 145) on South Campus. Then we head over to the women’s softball doubleheader versus Maine at 2 and 4 p.m. at River View Field on South Campus, featuring an ice cream social. At 6 p.m., we move to East Campus for a baseball match up versus Boston College. The battle takes to the field between innings for an intracollegiate battle: a baseball throw, bat race and around the bases sprint. Have an organization interested in participating? Contact us below.

On Thursday, April 28, the Baseball Research Center will hold an open house from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Shah Hall.

The Sports Collaborative for Open Research and Education (SCORE) is a campus cluster initiative at the University of Massachusetts Lowell focused on bringing together faculty, staff, students, companies, and organizations with the mission of exploring sports from academic and experiential perspectives in the university community and beyond.

SCORE connects disciplines in business, education, engineering, fine arts, health sciences, humanities, sciences and social sciences, as well as many extracurricular elements of student life.
