The beginning of fall marks the start of flu season. And as is the case with most immunizations, getting vaccinated against the flu protects you and offers protection to the people you care about who may have less robust immune systems.

It takes about two weeks for your immune system to respond and protect you against the flu, so getting vaccinated now as we head to more indoor activities will offer you protection as you gather with others.

Please note that all appointments for the flu clinic must be made via this pre-registration link to sign up for a day/time to get your flu shot. Select “Seasonal Flu Clinic” to find appointments scheduled in 10-minute increments that fit into your day. If you provide your email address during the registration process, you’ll receive an email reminder.

If you have not yet had your flu shot, please take advantage of UMass Lowell vaccine clinics at University Crossing:

  • Tuesday, Oct. 26: 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 27: 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
  • Monday, Nov. 1: 10 a.m. – noon
  • Thursday, Nov. 4: 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

These clinics are open to all UML community members who come to campus. Please bring your university ID as well as your insurance card. Those who do not wish to use their insurance can pay $29 at time of service in cash (exact amount only) or via a Visa/Mastercard.

To make your vaccine appointment as smooth as possible here’s a check that might be helpful:

  • Show up on the right day at the right time
  • Bring your university ID
  • Bring your insurance card or $29 payment
  • Bring your printed and signed consent form (pdf) or you’ll need to fill one out at the clinic.
  • Wear a loose fitting top that allows you to roll up your sleeve easily.
