Are you or someone you know looking for ways to combine art and science to engage youth? Now’s your chance to become a Cool Science Mentor!

Our online workshop is for adults who work with at least 10 K-12 youth in Massachusetts, Kansas or Missouri. We provide the art materials and supplies. You get to learn from home. Win-win!

Each workshop series consists of three online sessions. You can choose to attend one of the two options below:

  • Early June 2021 Series
    Part I – June 7
    Part II – June 9
    Part III – June 11
    4-5:30 p.m. (EDT)/3-4:30 p.m. (CDT)
    -OR-
  • Late June 2021 Series

    Part II – June 23
    Part III – June 24
    4-5:30 p.m. (EDT)/ 3-4:30 p.m. (EDT)

During this workshop series, you will learn how to educate youth about the science of extreme weather through artistic expression. A pro-rated stipend of up to $200 based on participation and the number of submissions to the Cool Science Art Contest*

*Mentors who attend all three sessions of a workshop series and submit their accordion book will receive $50 and art supplies. Trained mentors will also receive $15 for each mentee that submits a piece of artwork, an artist statement, and an accordion book to the Cool Science Art Contest, up to a maximum of $150. All stipends will be paid after the contest submission deadline has passed.
