The International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) Curricular Practical Training (CPT) application is completely paperless for international students and their CPT advisors. Students should be sure to fill out the correct CPT application to ensure timely processing and avoid delaying your start date.

Select the correct CPT e-form based on the type of experiential learning you are applying for:

  1. Full-time Co-op Program: the Co-op CPT Application (e-form) should be used for students accepted into and approved by the full-time Professional Co-op Program, or Graduate Master's Co-op Option in Engineering. Students will be required to upload the following documentation to the above CPT application e-form:
    • Job offer letter written on company letterhead, including:
      • Company's name
      • Job title
      • Physical address of the employment location (street, city, state, and zip code)
      • Employment Start and End dates
      • State if the job is full-time (more than 20 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week or less)
      • Name of supervisor
      • List of job responsibilities/job description
      • Signature of employer
    • Copy of unofficial transcript reflecting Co-op registration
    • Form I-94
  2. Ph.D. Students in Francis College of Engineering: You will need to complete a separate form with your college. More information about this process can be found on the Ph.D. CPT webpage.
  3. All other CPT requests: the CPT Application (e-form) should be used for students engaging in practical training integral to their degree program (required practicums, internships, field work, etc.). Students will be required to upload the following documentation to the above CPT application e-form:
    • Job offer letter written on company letterhead. including:
      • Company's name
      • Job title
      • Physical address of the employment location (street, city, state, and zip code)
      • Employment Start and End dates
      • State if the job is full-time (more than 20 hours/week) or part-time (20 hours/week or less)
      • Name of supervisor
      • List of job responsibilities/job description
      • Signature of employer
    • Copy of unofficial transcript reflecting CPT course registration
    • Form I-94

Applications are reviewed within 5-7 business after submission. Students will receive an email notification once processing is complete.
