About the Hellenic Studies Program

Our Mission

The purpose of the Hellenic Studies Program is to plan a wide range of activities that shed light on the cultural contributions of Greece as well as those of the Hellenic-American community. The Program will host guest speaker series, seminars, concerts, and cultural events in partnership with the Hellenic-American community of Lowell and the surrounding area.

The Hellenic Studies Program also seeks to foster collaborations and partnerships with educational institutions in the greater Greek world across an interdisciplinary spectrum including the social sciences, the natural sciences and engineering, the humanities and health and education fields. These international partnerships embrace faculty exchange and joint research ventures and to work with other Greek partners to promote and advance University of Massachusetts Lowell's goals of international collaboration in order to enhance the student experience by providing a global perspective to teaching and research, while contributing to mutual interests through exchange and service.
