Team Mygrow Fabrix, Benjamin Chaco, Alumni in Computer Engineering, Justin Simone, Graduate in Community Social Psychology, and Robert Simone, competed in the 2020 DifferenceMaker Idea Challenge and won the Rist Campus-Wide DifferenceMaker, including $7,000 in funding.

Team Mygrow Fabrix noticed that while gardening is enjoyable a high number of resources, time, and energy is needed to maintain gardens. To combat this problem, they pitched their innovative idea of a functional textile fabric company, which is eco-friendly and will assist in agricultural and horticultural means. The team is working to develop a multi-functional bio-composite textile vessel that improves growth and increases yield.

As of 2021, Mygrow Fabrix received guidance and funding from Foley and Lardner (Idea Challenge sponsor) that totaled $5,000 after the 2020 DifferenceMaker $50,000 Idea Challenge. Additionally, the team went on to register the company with the state of Massachusetts. The funding won at the Idea Challenge was used to further develop their idea through prototyping.
