2013 Significant Social Impact Award
Vanessa Colomba, Steve DiPerna, Isaie Mihigo, and Yousef Theeb discovered a need for mental health services due to the 1994 genocide. The people of Rwanda, especially children, need mental health services and there is a scarce number of resources and knowledge regarding mental health in Rwanda.
Team Bright Future Generation pitched their non-profit organization that supports mental health services with an education program to help children affected by the genocide in Rwanda during the 2013 DifferenceMaker Idea Challenge.
They won the Significant Social Impact Award and $1,500 worth of funding. With their funds, they traveled to Rwanda to meet with the kids and implement their programming.
