Description
This course presents fundamental and clinically relevant principles of cell biology. Emphasis is placed on cellular structures, organelles, and their biological functions, as well as the molecular signaling mechanisms that drive essential cellular processes and intercellular communication, Topics include the integration of cells into tissues and organ systems, mechanisms cell death, and the cellular basis of cancer. The course also covers core cell biology techniques, highlighting their applications in clinical diagnostics, biomedical research, and healthcare practice.
Prerequisites
HSCI.3500 Human Biochemistry, or CHEM.4500 Intro to Biochemistry, or BIOL.4190 Biochemisry, or Permission of Instructor.
