Biosketch

TSgt Andrew J. Monge is an ROTC Training Instructor assigned to Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 345 at the University
of Massachusetts, Lowell. He provides administrative functions managing the units’ personnel actions while educating and training officer candidates
through a comprehensive program of academics, leadership, exercise and physical fitness to ensure candidates have the professional and moral fortitude
to succeed as commissioned officers in the United States Air Force.

TSgt Monge began his active duty in the United States Air Force in June of 2007 and graduated technical school in February of 2008, totaling sixteen years in service. From there his first duty assignment was at Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, working on HH-60 helicopters out of the 723rd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. Here he gained the skills to become proficient as both a maintainer and a supervisor. He served on multiple deployments and accompanied aircrew on many trips across the southern United States. In May of 2015, he moved out to Kadena Air Base, Japan on an assignment to work at the 353rd Special Operations Maintenance Squadron. During this assignment he worked as a shift lead and continued to go on trips across the Pacific region. TSgt Monge requested to move to the training section to help teach the airmen within the squadron. As a training manager, he created the squadron’s Maintenance Qualification Training Program, and was the lead Self Aid Buddy Care and CPR instructor assisting with the fighter and medical squadrons as well as the DODEA teachers. Due to all his accomplishments, he was hand-selected to return to the Electronic Warfare section to manage the shop of 32 personnel. In June of 2019 he moved to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base where he was immediately placed in charge of the Electronic Warfare shop. While in this role he managed his team through multiple trips across the western United States and Pacific Region. He would become instrumental in the introduction on the Multi-Capable Airmen concept which he would utilize in both immediate response deployments he was requested for fulfilling numerous roles. He was then moved to manage the squadron’s most robust section comprised of a 15-member team providing mentorship and guidance. He was responsible for all the tools and equipment within the squadron ensuring their serviceability and availability while simultaneously monitoring 17 programs. He directly oversaw the rapid mobilization of 2 Unit Type Codes for Combat Search and Rescue Missions supporting 8 HC-130Js. He advised the Wing commander as one of the originators of the base’s Multi-capable Airmen and Tactical Combat Casualty Care programs resulting in their Hub and Spoke Lead Wing Strategy.

TSgt Monge has deployed to several locations in his career, the first being Balad Air Base, Iraq. Next, he deployed to Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait where he received an achievement medal for his constant efforts to make sure the aircraft were airworthy to retrieve injured personnel. Additionally, he deployed to Bastion Air Base, Afghanistan where he helped at the CASEVAC, assisting injured personnel until they got on the C-130 to evacuate the area in the Helmand Provence. Furthermore, he deployed on the initial Immediate Response Force leading a 23-member team maintaining 3 aircraft in response to the Iranian missile strikes. Finally, he deployed to Djibouti where he showcased his experience and aptitude receiving a commendation medal for his efforts.
