Biosketch

Captain Clayton Eilert is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies, AFROTC Detachment 345, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Massachusetts. He is responsible for leading and mentoring flights of Air and Space Force officer cadets through a rigorous training program designed to produce world-class officers of character possessing the American warrior ethos, prepared to lead, and fight and win our Nation’s wars. 

Captain Eilert enlisted in the Air Force in 2010, serving in the Cyber Systems Operations career field. He served as a System Administrator for multiple Joint war planning and command and control systems at Headquarters Pacific Air Forces. Later, he served in the 48th Intelligence Squadron as a System Security Officer for the Distributed Ground Station-2 weapon system. Captain Eilert earned his commission as a Distinguished Graduate of Officer Training School in December 2015. He completed Financial Management Officer training in 2016 and has served as a Financial Services Flight Commander, a Deputy Budget Chief, and an Executive Officer. Prior to his current position, Captain Eilert served as the Deputy Cost Chief of the Survivable Airborne Operations Division where he led advanced statistical analysis and decision support activities assessing cost impacts, affordability, and program funding strategies for the Department of Defense’s replacement Weapon System for the E-4B, National Airborne Operations Center.
